No. It will only act as a vertical trigger if you set flag 1000 (option 2/direction). Also you do not need to set flag 100 for it to be a horizontal trigger. Flag 100, if I'm not mistaken, is the run script on contact flag (which entity 46 sets on its own).

I've had it happen to me before during a couple of boss rushes, since I would try to get close to him so I could use the blade but was careless and didn't really try to dodge his attacks. It's easy enough to avoid if you just want to beat him normally though.

I believe shmitz might have used a seperate npc.tbl editor, or edited it by hand with a hex editor (I think he used SW, since he was kind of before CE's time, or at least before CE had a lot of its bugs fixed). It just sounds like it's corrupted or something and that's why CE won't open it...
