Perhaps they were bred from sharks? That makes much more sense than a human cyborg to me. If they were part hammerhead, that would at least explain the sees-in-the-pitch-black aspects that has been dubbed the Mother of All Cave Story Questions (iirc).

Oh man, I really like Pulser. Most of the appeal comes from it sounding chaotic at the first and then steadily resoling itself into a nice melody. Hot stuff was also pretty sexy, particularly the crackly noises,which added to the atmosphere. Nice work GIR, I hope you keep doing more original...

I dunno. Perhaps for the same reason people get named 'Autumn', 'Rivers' or 'Fork'? They are nice sounding words, so parents just re-purpose them as names. A spot of poor decision making on Jenka's part here, but I'm sure she had good intentions. Maybe she's going to hell.
