The main reason the exp crystals thing isn't a problem for the nemesis is that the weapon levels down as fast as it levels up. If you accidentally make it lvl 3, just take a hit from something weak.

When I read this thread, I thought it was asking if the game Cave Story+ was going to hell. I think the game still crashes if you finish the machine gun challenge, so maybe it has?

Set the system language to japanese. Specifically, somewhere in the settings of your computer you should be able to find an option that let's you run non-unicode programs in japanese. That's what you need to do. Google would probably help you in figuring this out, if you haven't tried already.
