Ayup, light is much more difficult than I'd be comfortable attempting. The best you can get is an approximation, but how complex and accurate that approximation is all depends on how much work you're willing to put into it.

Another thing you can do for this game (and my favourite part perhaps) is take somebody else's drawing and provide an interpretation of what it is. This here is a crazy duck with red pants running around while a giant slug crawls along in the background.

My favourite part is how you're completely ignoring the two-player aspect, the one thing that would differentiate this from any other generic hell edit. It's like saying you're going to build a 24-ft gold plated statue of Kanpachi, and then going fishing for two weeks for "character research".

You don't need to know how to use the assembler. It uses the autohacker; a bunch of text files with offsets and hex pairs ready to be pasted onto your executable. This is a hack that I made before the assembler existed.

You do have a point there. I suppose the best advice is to follow what you think is best. Some games are better suited to small numbers; Games where you have to build gradually, start humbly. Other games have grand pretenses, so it makes sense for big flashy numbers because you're so important...

Big numbers almost always feel more satisfying; that's why people use em'! However, the experience should also scale nonlinearly as well; As in, higher levels require more XP. It's like a quantification of your awesomeness as a player. Gotta scale it well so the numbers start out reasonably...

Hm, this game is actually kind of fun :D Lots of buttons, though you only really need three frequently. It maps pretty well to a SNES controller. Anyway, I can't really say much about strategy since I don't know anything about video games.
