You don't even need to hack that. It already exists. I forget what entity # it is but I used it in my own mod for when the player dies.

That's pretty much the entire shtick of free* games. They give you just enough to get interested, and then they're all palms-up. It almost feels kind of dishonest to me, which is why I dislike these sort of games. If you want my money (and there is no game producer in existence that doesn't)...
