Re: What the FUCK noxid!? I find this thread hilarious in hindsight, since Noxid IS actually quitting modding. He even said so on his blog.

The issue is that most of us want to be able to reach the lower demographic and could care less if they improved. Most OS's come with what's necessary to open zip's, and I don't see any real reason to not make it a zip other than to say "fuck you newbs who don't have 7zip/winrar".

Use mspaint or something to edit the .pbm file associated with the tileset (PrtXXXX.pbm). That's how you edit the graphics. Use the tileset editor in CE to edit which tiles are solid/slopes/foreground/background/water.

Re: What the FUCK noxid!? I'm surprised this fooled as many people as it did. Cultr1's post at the beginning should've nearly gave it away (he was the first to figure this all out, maybe he knows us the best?), but it carried on quite nicely after that. Noxid will probably be able to explain...

Re: What the FUCK noxid!? This has been going on for awhile, but up until now, I've just been too dumb to see it. What lace said about the hacking is true. A bunch of my hacks (like some TSC hacks and the title screen) have been "stolen" by noxid. I gave him some earlier versions of WTF...

Why did you edit it to say plan? This already happened, you know. Also why did you uncapitalize the "now" in the last sentence? If you're going to correct something, you shouldn't be adding errors.

Fab makes a great point here. It's not like they're taking away the PC version and replacing it with this. This is just a little something more for those who want it (and are willing to pay).

What I've been told (and what I've seen, kind of) is that drawing is somewhat of an acquired skill: if you want to get better at it, you have to draw lots. It's expected that you'll suck at the beginning. But it's those that put in years of work into learning how to draw that become the best...

Just make a clean back up then and you'll never have this issue again. I have a folder that I keep that just has vanilla cave story in it. Quite useful.

This complaint I don't understand. Remember that this is for the 3DS, so the graphics are limited in how detailed they can be, since the 3DS uses a resolution that is just slightly higher than the original Cave Story (400x240 vs 320x240). I do find it a bit odd that they resused the old status...

The maps pixel made use only 90-1000 in the map scripts normally, so it's safe to assume they won't break anything. Events above 1000 are used in the item scripts and such, so there could be complications. Events below 90 are in the Head.tsc as well.

You should only need the first 2, <NCJ0155:2101<NCJ0153:2101 Try using smaller event numbers though. For maps i find it's best to stick in the 90-1000 range.
