Okay, so we know what's wrong with your half step counting, but now explain how you found the interval names, cause that was also totally wrong.

Wait, that wasn't the only mistake you made, E3 to C4 is EIGHT half steps, not 9. The other mistake you made is that you counted B# and C as two different notes. Remember there is no black key between B and C so B# is enharmonic to C. When counting half steps, don't count enharmonic notes.

Oh I see what you did. When you're counting half-steps, you count the number of steps it takes to get from one to the other. E to F is 1 step. F to F# is another. adding them up you get a total of NINE steps, not 10.

What do you mean by the Fb G# thing? Enharmonics? Fb is not enharmonic to G#, F# is enharmonic to Gb.
