The work needed to be done anyway as a basis for converting the remaining themes (bluepearl, gameflaws, and the miraigamer default) to IPBoard, since they all use medium to dark backgrounds and white text.

Well I am about half way through converting themes. Here's what I've done so far: CS Dark may look like a simple edit, unfortunately however it was anything but. The IPB default was never made to work with a dark background.

Set the display mode to sharp under the in-game settings.

Use this: http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.14-win32.zip Unzip and paste it into the same folder as your Cave Story exe and let me know how it goes. If you downloaded the SDL runtime from anywhere else you could get stuck with old releases or trojans without knowing it, keep this in mind.

Hmm.. co-op is all well and good but deathmatch mode wouldn't feel like cave story at all.
