You would think so, but Pixel said that Quote's (not Curly's) hat read "CURLY BRACE".

Sounded like a German name. Oh well...

Because Pixel named him Curly Brace before renaming him to Quote. Because in the Japanese Doukutsu Monogatari everyone spoke Japanese and the hat was written in English. The English translation confused the matter a bit.
