Monster X is nothing - Find out how with these easy steps

Awesome. So, the much-maligned Sword lv3 has had a hidden value all along in fighting the much-feared Monster X. And you get the Blade just before the Labyrinth, too... now my mind is blown. A shame it's so clumsy for other purposes.

Monster X is nothing - Find out how with these easy steps

A pleasure to help as best I can. Speaking of the Blade, I'm a lv3 apologist and should go see if that form is useful here.

Monster X is nothing - Find out how with these easy steps

I see that a lot of people have trouble with Monster X even though I never remember finding the boss that difficult. For reference, I'm capable of going through Cave Story up to the entrance to hell without dying. To accomplish this feat I must surely have come across a good strategy for...

    What destroyed the Egg Corridor?

I'm sorry for posting late (only recently saw this thread), but eggs 1 and 6 had treasure chests in them. That's why they're marked as odd, to encourage the player to investigate. As for the corridor, it could be some sort of countermeasure if a wrong password is input for Egg 00, to make the...

    Sonic the Hedgehog ORG Collab

Awesome! I was born for this *shot* Here are the three Sonic orgs I've made so far: Scrap Brain Zone, Sonic 2 Boss Theme (younincombots), and Green Hill Zone Game Gear (not on the list, but included for completeness).

    OrgReader (and PiPo, and Poctp)

Got a live one for ya.... Here's a sister program that turns Ptcops into text. All it does right now, though. Keys and key corrects are still arcane to me.... Btw, the other two have received big recent updates.

Indeed! Some of my Orgs took me maybe two years to finish. (...I wasn't working on them all the time, it was more a cycle of getting frustrated, stopping, then coming back after a cool-off period.) As price for this encouragement, I provide you with two more Orgs, from Terranigma and World of...

No proper intro? I guess not. The finished ones (Biosed and Tin Plate King are unfinished) are highly unlikely to change, so instead of dithering on whether I should just link to my Org page for the fifth time, I'll just attach them. Steamboat Wharfy is finished from a three-year ago...

    OrgReader (and PiPo, and Poctp)

Having done this, I compared the various beta Orgs discovered in those old OrgViewers.

    OrgReader (and PiPo, and Poctp)

How do I manage to lose my intro.... oh well. OrgReader is a Python program designed to suck in Orgs and spit out text files, and vice-versa. The utility is endless. You can combine two Orgs (of small tracks) easily, even out volume and panning, and other great stuff I mention in the readme...

    Christmas ORG Contest

Okay, a few people have been having trouble downloading my ORGs lately, and it just occurred to me, durr, why not try putting them in a zip file? So here's my entry with that done... I hope it works.

Song from Abadox: The Deadly Inner War. No idea which level, I just had to remake it.

    Christmas ORG Contest

Ugh, I just couldn't decide between Deck the Halls and Rock of Ages. Eventually I chose the latter, because it has more of an original element.

    Christmas ORG Contest

Oh wow, I'm actually totally equipped to do this one. Is there a limit on how many songs we can submit?

Hmm... When I was making it, I noticed that OrgMaker 2.0.5 didn't go into the very low range I put in the song, and that caused some problems: one note I placed at the absolute bottom in 2.1.0 squealed in protest in the former. That, though, I think I did resolve by now... I do think it at...

This isn't much, but I made an ORG that's the sort of thing you'd hear in a shady, smoke-filled place. Appropriately titled "Take A Big Drag". This happened as I was futzing around with some other music program which I don't comprehend and liked the sounds I was making. It's quite simple and I...

    Org or Pxtone?

Okay, I'm really glad you mentioned that that was a bug and not a feature. Because it turns out if you change it once too often, the thing comes crashing down. I think it's still really useful for just testing a few different instrument choices for a single track when you're otherwise done...

    Org or Pxtone?

Ah, no, that's not quite what I mean... I mean you do like -Start the song playing -Go into the instruments dialog -Click a new instrument for any track; it will change as the song continues to play, so you can test several without having to click okay and restart the song and whatnot.

    Org or Pxtone?

Now this is a bump, but I don't think a lot of people know this, so it's pertinent. One minor advantage OrgMaker has (at least 2.1): HOLY CRAP YOU CAN CHANGE INSTRUMENTS WHILE THE SONG IS PLAYING. Try it! It's a good way to judge instrument changes. I think that PxTone stops playing if you...

I hear what you're saying, and I did mean to do that at first - but when I was done, it ended up that I kind of liked the softer sounds even better than the original. So I left it as is. But, I thank you; that range advice is good to keep in mind for other Genesis-based songs.

Thanks a bunch! I'm proud of how close it ultimately came out to the original in terms of pacing and interplay of sounds.

Non, I mean adding ORGs to the list of acceptable file types. Right now, it's limited to "zip, txt, pdf, png, jpg, jpeg, jpe, gif".

New ORG: Sticker, based on the 9-12 stage song from Puyo Puyo. You may recognize its watered-down form in Mean Bean Machine's Exercise Mode. (I can never decide if I should direct link or link to the section, like with a picture, so I guess I'll do the latter. It's listed under "Unfinished...
