But to be honest it does kind of bother me how dead the forums are.

I mean technically you can argue this thread shouldn't be in the CS discussion subforum

This place is still more alive than the forums that have nothing but spambots farming SEO points, but I've indeed also seen forums that even still have casual game convos that these days normally take place in discord servers so it indeed could be better, not that it can be forced.

Discord is cool but it can be SO overwhelming sometimes... I have learned to love the quiet, slower pace of forum responses.

I mean, it would be cool to have some events idk There ARE people popping online everyday, but since there is no action, they just check in and log off :<

The biggest shame remains the lack of long as heck forum posts talking about some hyperfixation of theirs, like even just a thread focused on whatever OP where the writer spend half an hour deciding that they need everyone to be informed about some cool thing or another.
Those good kinda posts, be they analysis on things or LPs or what you, are kinda neat and can last forever since everyone with internet access can look at it without needing to join some closed community in which it'll get buried anyway.

I've considered finding a place to gush on about whatever games in the past like a forum or finding out if I can get myself a website in the past too, give whoever a some hyperfixations to read through.

I doubt forums will be anything more than a niche thing going forward, as much as I wish otherwise. The modern internet chose convenience without consideration of the cost, and it sucks. Regardless... I plan to keep this place running for as long as I hold breath.
